Death Stranding Director's Cut

A courier carries cargo across a broken, haunted America to reconnect cities. Strange, slow and unlike any other open world.

1 In short

What you do. Plan routes, balance heavy loads, build roads and bridges, and leave helpful structures for other players.

Who it suits. Patient players who enjoy the journey itself. Hard to describe, easy to love or hate.

2 Entering the world

Sam starts as a porter in a misty, empty land. Balancing a backpack over rocks is oddly gripping.

3 Living there

Other players' ladders and bridges appear in your world, quietly helping you. Building roads is satisfying.

4 Where to stop

Private rooms and terminals save the game; one delivery per session is a good rhythm.

In its favour

  • Unique, meditative travel
  • Clever shared building
  • Haunting landscapes

Against it

  • Very slow start
  • Strange story
